This full moon in the watery depths of Scorpio (and with Mars and Pluto retrograde to boot) is all about revealing what’s hidden within us - and adding Mars retrograde into the mix, we have a high level of intense, raw, untamable energy at our fingertips.
If you are carrying any shame, you feel like you are blamed for being yourself or you know you actually aren’t being true to who you are (emotionally, psychologically, spiritually, sexually, sensually, intimately, energetically) OR a combination of all of the above … then you might reallllly be feeling some strong feels right now.
Anxiety, anger, lack of focus, emotional outbursts - these are all signs that we are living OUT OF ALIGNMENT with ourselves - out of alignment with our needs and desires - and at a time like this all of those energies can be amplified if we fail to give them the attention that they are vying for - the attention that is meant to help us dig deeper into the truth of who we are and to take action on integrating the pieces of ourselves that we choose to own or disown.
So what this moon begs to ask you is, what are the parts of yourself that you allow to be seen - and the others that you hide away?
And even deeper … who are you hiding from? Is it really the people and expectations in your life, or is it yourself? Is it an external situation or is something that you know only you can truly take responsibility for?
The Full Moon is always a time to reveal what’s hidden, bringing full illumination to the sky and our lives, in order to see clearly where we’re at and where we’ve come from.
This is meant to be done with a level of conscious-awareness, not self spiraling judgement, so try no to be hard on yourself. This monthly element of illumination is meant to bring AWARENESS - not any further judgment to make you feel worse.
Keeping that in mind, know that sometimes what desires to be revealed can be particularly the gnarly, ugly or painful - depending on what it is, why it’s been hidden and what it’s here to teach us.
As Chani Nicholas says, “Scorpio does not shy away from the horrors of life. Ruled by the nocturnal domain of Mars, ruled by the warrior, Scorpio displays the stealth moves of an undercover agent … whatever it’s motives are, Scorpio teaches us about what lives beneath.”
In most cases, what lives beneath is usually under the surface for a reason … but if we keep trying to shove it down every time it tries to come up for air (aka in order for us to heal, learn or move on from it) then it can become a silent, sabotaging and obsessive inner force. One that we pretend doesn’t impact us moment to moment, day to day … but does. It silently starts to touch everything in our lives, keeping us from being who we know we can be. And yet, despite knowing that we aren’t living up to our own standards, we keep pretending to be something we’re not.
As usual with anything that represents the shadow, unconscious side of our being, Scorpio has some gems hidden in it’s emotional depths ... but it can feel d e n s e in the process of accessing, and feeling it's unruly emotional energy.
So, like this moon … the aim is to try not to judge what comes up too much … but just to let what wants to come up, come up. Try to stay objective and reflective rather than reactive.
I know I say this every time I make playlist, but the point is to get you to MOVE. To LITERALLY move your body, get your cells moving to shift your energy, your mood, clear any stagnant emotions or ways of being so that what wants to come through you can come through.
So GET UP and MOVE. Even if you don’t want to. I don’t care if you are walking, running, doing sit ups in your living room. MOVE YOUR BODY TO MOVE YOUR ENERGY.
The beauty (even if it’s hard to see it that way) of Mars going retrograde is for us to bring consciousness to what’s real for us, so that we can use the energy to work with us instead of against us.
Sometimes the greatest unpleasantries, the darkest nights and the biggest fears become the biggest entry points. So let what wants to be revealed reveal itself.
And then, if it’s time to do so, with consciousness and intention, choose to heal it or release it.
… And if this moon is all too much for you, and is breathe, check out the APRIL #freedomtomove playlist for a more mellow approach … great for bath time, journaling or an epic sob sesh.
Lots of full moon love,
Ashly
