MOON MEDICINE: FULL MOON IN VIRGO

Full Moon in Virgo … The Virgin.  Her original translation meant the feminine aspect that is whole, unto herself … in union with herself.  FULLY in alignment with herself.

This is reflected in the astrological element of the full moon of the virgin.  Fully illuminated.  Wholly seen, accepted, respected.

The light of the full moon heals us … we need it’s shine to illuminate our wounds and untruths we tell ourselves.  Just as the moon rises, so must we emerge from our horizon line and ascend into our greatness.

And this ascension can only be done if we absorb the light and dwell in the dark.  We must acknowledge the wisdom and truth that is expressed during both polarities of our being.

So often we avoid shining the light on our wounds - afraid for what their wisdom or pain will reveal. But we need the illumination truth and to dwell in the presence of discomfort - we have to feel what needs to be felt so it can be released.  We need to be present to what needs to be known so that we can move on.

So The Virgin asks you now … what does it mean to be whole or sovereign unto yourself?   How can you be fully you?  How can you reclaim your whole being?  Where are you being abundant and truthful whole towards yourself and where are you fragmenting or neglecting what needs to be seen, felt, heard and understood?  Where are you out of alignment?  Are you living in rhythm?  Are you going with the flow or staunching with uptight obsessive tendencies?  As Shakti says in her beautiful full moon post, "the Virgo full moon asks, where are you leaking what is holy and yours alone to offer?"

*** And as an aside ... know that you don't have to hit the moon energies on the exact day of the lunar phase.  What is more important is that you identify with the energy of the current lunar phase.  For example, let’s say that you meant to do a moon ceremony or set intentions on the full moon, but forgot to.

That’s okay.  The moon holds each elemental phase for 3 days - and each phase is either building light or diminishing in light - so you can always identify with the more general growing or receding energies of the waxing or waning energy or more specifically within 3 days of the most recent lunar phase.

The moon was full on March 5, 2015 ... and I'm posted this on March 8, 2015 ... why?  Because we are still within the energy of the full moon, while it is descending towards darkness, it is still in it's greatest phase of illumination. The most important element of connecting with the lunar archetypes is the energy behind your intention for connection, so if you miss it by a day, know that’s okay as long as you are placing your intention with the waxing, growing, illuminating, completion energy of the full moon or the waning, descending, diminishing, darkness of the new moon.
